In 2019 we wrote about Volkswagen's plans to outsell Tesla by 2022. Well… it won't. Recently, Volkswagen updated its plans and now aims to produce 800,000 electric vehicles by the end of 2022. This will be far below Tesla's production numbers. Tesla has already produced more than 900,000 electric vehicles by the end of Q3.
While Tesla is experiencing growing pains with its mega-factories in Texas and Germany, it has easily outgrown Volkswagen. Still, there are those in the industry who believe that both Tesla and Volkswagen will produce about 2.5 million electric cars by 2024, with Volkswagen slightly ahead. At German Autosport in Berkeley, we look forward to the increasing availability of electric Volkswagens. In the meantime, you can bring your traditionally driven VW to our Berkeley "Everything German" facility - our nationally ASE certified technicians have extensive experience in Volkswagen repair, and whether your VW Need factory scheduled maintenance, or face major repairs, they can get it. Diagnosed and fixed - and it'll be right the first time. We stand behind our work with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
